VITAMIN C AND E RICH FOOD


Vitamin C is an essential part of enhancing immunity, for kids, adults, and even elderly people. There are some herbs such as amla or Indian gooseberry, lemon, giloy, brahmi, oranges, guava, and papaya which are high in vitamin C and have propensities to infuse antioxidants and improve immunity. For better results, you should have them every day.

Vitamin E is a vital and effective antioxidant that is able to protect you against various pathogens, bacteria, and viruses. To get the daily dose of vitamin E, soaked almonds, peanut butter, sunflower seeds, and even hazelnuts should be included in the diet.

Turmeric



Turmeric is our magical Indian super-food and an ingredient of curcuminoids fighting against cancer. It is an effective anti-oxidant that combat free radicals thus lowering the root cause of all diseases caused by inflammation.

Tip: A perfect way to drink it is, as a shot with 1⁄2 tsp tea, and a mild latte with turmeric. Or add that to your shots of carrot and beetroot water. Also, you can use turmeric for steaming. TULSI

Tulsi or Holy basil is a common herb in the Lamiaceae family. It is native to India and is widely grown in Southeast Asia. So, the 'Queen of Herbs' is appropriately named Tulsi. Tulsi is rich in Zinc and Vitamin C. Therefore, it acts as a natural booster of immunity and keeps infections away.


Benefits: This has enormous anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties that protect us from infections of various kinds. Tulsi leaves extract increases the activity of T cells (T-cell count or CD4 count is an indicator of immune function in patients living with HIV) and natural killer cells, boosting the immune system.


GARLIC

This herb has curative and medicinal properties. Garlic's beneficial properties come from a compound called Allicin. They are rich in minerals such as phosphorus, zinc, potassium, and magnesium.



Benefits: Garlic protects our body from free radicals, Zinc from garlic increases immunity. Its antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties stimulate the immune system and keep diseases at bay.


Tip: Take some raw garlic pieces, roast them on the pan for 2 minutes, then take it as it is. Mixing chopped raw garlic and cloves with a tablespoon of raw honey and eating it on alternate days is a quick home remedy. It's a smart way to help improve the immune system.


 

Even after the epidemic of coronavirus took over our lives, many nutritionists have shared recipes for immune-boosting beverages. Here's one you can try it:


Ingredients


  • Chopped pieces of ginger

  • Black Pepper

  • Cloves

  • Cinnamon

  • Turmeric

  • Lemon

  • Water-500 ml



Method- Boil all the ingredients together for 10 minutes. Switch of the flame. Strain it with a sieve or strainer and drink it. Always remember to NOT drink it at a lukewarm temperature.
